Academic Writing Centre

1 October - 30 November 2012

The Academic Writing Centre (AWC) provides free one-on-one sessions on essay writing tailored to the needs of individual students.

Everyone is equally welcome regardless of the level of experience or grade average. AWC tutors work with advanced final year students and new entrants alike.

Last year, tutors of the Academic Writing Centre helped over 400 students find a way to overcome recurrent problems with grammar, punctuation, spelling, and essay structure. You can also visit the AWC if you have trouble starting your essay or choosing your essay topic.

There is no need to book an appointment, simply drop in during our opening hours.

For the best learning experience, you should bring your written work with you. Some students bring completed assignments; others bring rough drafts or notes. Please note that the AWC is not an editing or proofreading service.

Location and Opening Hours (From 1 October 2012)

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings at 11.00 - 13.00 in Group Study Room 3 on the second floor of the Library

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings at 19.00 - 21.00 in the Consultation Room in the foyer of the Library

Bíonn seirbhís Ghaeilge ar fáil maidin Dé Céadaoin agus maidin Dé Luain (11.00-13.00).
